Egypt QuizDescription: Life in Ancient Egypt was complex and fascinating and our aim is to encourage pupils to become interactively involved in its exploration through the use of pictures and words (either written or spoken). We have left some of the activity cards blank so that pupils can make their own versions. Learning Outcomes: Pupils will have increased their knowledge about the ancient Egyptians. |

Medieval Snakes and LaddersDescription: We have devised this activity to help students engage with English Medieval History. To gain an insight into the life of a humble serf, students collect Chance Cards which they transcribe into a diary of their character at the end of the game. Learning Outcomes: Pupils will have broadened their understanding of everyday life in Medieval England. |

Greek FarmingDescription: As part of the study of Ancient Greece this activity focuses on farming and the various factors that affect the outcome of it being either a good or bad year. The produce used in the game are the same that are still enjoyed by many today, even if the farming techniques have changed. WW2 Air RaidsDescription: The bombing of civilians is a common strategy of war. In this activity we have focused on air raids on Britain during World War 2 but many of the affects on civilians are still the same today, in any war zone. Learning Outcomes: Students will have gained knowledge of life in Britain during WW 2. |

Aztec Tributes GameDescription: The Aztecs demanded tributes from all the smaller neighbouring tribes, and this board game is designed to show how the tributary tribes became discontented with this system. It was this discontent that in the end lead the smaller tribes to support any group of soldiers who were prepared to help them stand up to Aztecs. Learning Outcomes: The Learning Outcome will be that students will have learned about the Aztec tributes system and gained an insight into the downfall of the Aztec Empire. |

Underlying Causes of First World WarDescription: This dominoes activity helps students to gain an understanding of the underlying causes of the First World War exploring how certain aspects and causes of the war had more effect than others. The game is designed to raise discussion and to encourage more varied responses. Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to discuss the underlying causes of WW1 and demonstrate their understanding through linking together some of the issues. |
